100 e-commerce women entrepreneurs will receive a grant of Tk. 50,000 in Singra
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak has announced a grant of Tk. 50,000 to 100 digital women entrepreneurs on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's birthday on October 28.
The state minister made this announcement while speaking as the chief guest at the distribution ceremony of sewing machines among the poor and helpless women of Singra Upazila on Thursday morning.
He said, on the auspicious day of our beloved leader Sheikh Hasina's 75th birthday, 100 of the e-commerce women entrepreneurs of 12 wards and 12 unions of Singra Municipal Council and upazila, who are ready to sell their products online in the digital shop, will be given 50,000 each on September 28. “But I request you will make yourself more efficient after getting this sewing machine. Continue your efforts to become a female entrepreneur in e-commerce. If training is required, we will arrange it from the ICT Division; if fund is available, we will donate on behalf of public leader Sheikh Hasina. If a bigger entrepreneur can invest this 50 thousand taka and can creat a fund of 5 lakh taka in two years, you can open your own office at Hi-tech Park or Sheikh Kamal IT Incubation Center there. You can start business as an e-commerce entrepreneur.
In this regard, the State Minister said, I am giving this grant to 100 people in Singra on the birthday of the Honorable Prime Minister. This is the ‘Bangmata Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Indomitable Women Entrepreneurship Grant’. Under this program we are giving this grant to 2000 people all over Bangladesh.
Upazila Executive Officer MM Samirul Islam presided over the function at Natore Upazila Parishad Auditorium. Assistant Land Commissioner Ali Imran, Singra Upazila Awami League President Sheikh Ohidur Rahman, Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Kamrul Hasan Kamran, Chowgram Union Former Chairman Shamima Haque Rozi and others were present.
Sewing machines were distributed to 75 women entrepreneurs with the money allocated from the annual development budget of Upazila Parishad. It was informed in the event that sewing machines have been distributed to 91 people so far from this budget.
